Hanyuan (Theo) Zhang, a rising senior at Tufts University, is driven by a passion for social justice, particularly in queer and transgender rights. They actively engage in initiatives and organizations to create positive change for marginalized communities. As a policy research intern at the Mass Commission for LGBTQ Youth, Theo contributed to the FY 2024 report, deepening their understanding of policy development and honing their analytical and research skills. Theo is also an intern at the Tufts LGBT Center, where they foster an inclusive environment by contributing to the planning and execution of community events. They founded the Queer Asian Social Group to advocate for the rights and well-being of queer Asians, cultivating dialogue and a sense of belonging. Outside of their pursuits, Theo is a proud dog dad to Mocha and finds inspiration in their love for coffee.
