Georgia Katsoulomitis joined MLRI as Executive Director in March 2011. She is an attorney with extensive experience in public policy, nonprofit management and development, and strategic communications. Under her leadership, MLRI’s advocacy, impact and reach has expanded, its staff has increased in size by over 30%, and the program’s budget has increased four-fold. In addition, MLRI’s advocacy has incorporated a racial equity lens and a community-driven framework that values the voices and experiences of people with lived experience of poverty, economic and racial injustice. Georgia served in the Clinton Administration as a Special Assistant to U.S. Labor Secretaries Robert B. Reich and Alexis Herman. She was a Vice President at Robinson Lerer and Montgomery, a leading New York-based international communications firm (now RLM Finsbury), where she specialized in government relations, strategic philanthropy, and litigation communications. Upon returning to her native state of Massachusetts, she served as the Managing Director of the Boston Bar Foundation, Assistant Executive Director of the Boston Bar Association and as the Interim Executive Director of the Fair Housing Center of Greater Boston. Georgia is a graduate of Tufts University and the Catholic University School of Law.  She is a 2004 LeadBoston Fellow and a 2021 Shriver Center Racial Justice Institute Fellow and is active in many community organizations.  She serves on the Massachusetts Federal Judicial Nominations Advisory Committee and previously served on the Massachusetts Access to Justice Commission and on the Mayor of Boston’s Office of Immigrant Advancement Advisory Board.
