MLRI Mourns the Loss of Two Board Members

BOSTON – It is with great sadness that Massachusetts Law Reform Institute (MLRI) announces the passing of two longtime Board members and officers.

Frantz Josaphat died in June after a long bout with cancer. For many years he was a representative of the League of Haitian-American Voters to MLRI’s Board. He was also the Board’s Clerk and a member of the Board’s Executive Committee.

Bill Brainard died suddenly in early September. Bill had been an MLRI Board member for the past 13 years as a representative of Merrimack Valley – Neighborhood Legal Services, where he served as a housing attorney. He was a past President of the Board, the current Treasurer, and a longtime member of the Board’s Executive Committee.

Both made major contributions to the governance of MLRI over the years and always gave their time and support when asked or needed. They will be sorely missed.
