Francisca Fajana
Fran directs the litigation, legislative and public policy advocacy for the Minority Rights Project. Under her leadership, the Project engaged in a comprehensive examination of the critical legal issues facing low-income communities of color culminating in her work being published in Clearinghouse Review, a national poverty law journal. Fran's primary areas of concentration are education, employment and the collateral civil consequences of criminal records. Prior to joining MLRI, Fran worked for many years as a staff, senior attorney, and then Advocacy Coordinator in a legal services program where she litigated complex housing discrimination cases in Federal and State courts. Fran has successfully argued before the Massachusetts Appeals Court.
