Ernest Winsor

Ernest ("Tony") Winsor has been a staff attorney at MLRI for 34 years. With a background in court system reform, appellate procedure, public records and privacy issues, he currently spends most of his work time on trying (1) to lessen the unfair harm caused to people with criminal records ("CORI") by the widespread, and often inaccurate and misleading, dissemination of those records, (2) to enhance competent language interpreter services in Massachusetts courts, hospitals and other places where vitally needed, and (3) to try to change Massachusetts practice so that well-trained and well-supervised lay advocates may represent people who would otherwise be unrepresented in relatively simple court proceedings.
